A trip with the children through Surselva - Switzerland
We choose Switzerland as a stop between our Belgian country and Italy. But it is a lot more than a place to spend the night quickly... We stay for 10 days in Val Lumnezia (the Valley of Light) in the canton of Graubünden. Our base is a new, beautiful apartment with special details in Vignon. Casa Lumnezia has an open kitchen, a spacious living room, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a fantastic view.
The summer Alps are fantastic for our children (4 and 6 years old). There are numerous lakes such as lakes such as the Caumasee in Flims , the Badensee in Davos Munts,... all with crystal clear mountain water. Taking mountain walks is also a good idea. Early in the morning we take the cable car from the Triel mountain station to Piz Hitzegfe and walk over the mountain ridge to Piz Mundaum.
It is a special experience... the fog, the alpine cows and us. The cattle with their typical bells around their necks are not timid at all. Sometimes you have to "push" one aside to continue following your path. After this "arduous" walk we pamper ourselves in the wellness complex Waldhaus in Films.
Oh, and be sure to explore the Rheinschlucht ....a stunning example of natural beauty.
Another gem of this region is undoubtedly its architecture: Vrin, the village of architect Gion A. Caminada , St-Benedict Chapel and the Thermal Baths of Vals by architect Peter Zumthor , the Gelbe Haus by architect Valerio Olgiato , the Bundner Kunstmuseum in Chur, ....
